Love like Chemistry {Engagement Session}

Image
Chemistry... Alex and Clay came to me a couple months ago for a wedding consultation and I instantly felt a connection with them. Their love is so genuine and they are two of the nicest people I've met. Their proposal story is one of the BEST! They went on a trip to Disney and when they got there Clay got down on one knee and asked Alex to marry him! --- I thought "DISNEY, are your freaking kidding me?!?!" That has got to be the coolest location I've heard of! (maybe it's just because I love Disneyland and Disney world so much) Just talking with them at our consult, I was so excited and inspired by their love story that I couldn't wait to work with them. Then, we scheduled the Engagement Session.  Alex mentioned an Enchanted forest theme so I took them to one of my favorite local parks and we shot during golden hour. The light and location were perfect. I had the best time with the two of them and we laughed a lot! Alex is absolutely gorgeous and I can...

Paul and Rebecca Vancouver WA Engagement Session

Image
Paul and Rebecca are one of my favorite couples. I had so much fun capturing their engagement. They told me they were awkward , that they don't usually do photos and would need a lot guidance.. Honestly, everyone says that so I assured them it would feel awkward but we will have a great time and I'll get some awesome shots.. and that's just what we did. I like to have my brides tell their stories for the blog so here are some interview questions that Rebecca answered for me about her session. Engagement Session Date: June 20, 2017 How did you two meet? So we met in a bar- Three Monkeys in Hazel Dell. I was there with friends and he came in after buying a shirt for kickball. We chatted and then had lunch the next day.  How did he propose? His birthday is December 22 and on the 23rd we went to dinner "for his bday." After eating, I went to bathroom and he was waiting in foyer entry area on a bench. He reached out and said "help me up...

Love to hike; Emily and Dakota Engagement

Image
::Emily and Dakota's Engagement Session:: Wedding Date August 19, 2017 How did you two meet? Dakota and I met in band at Mountain View High School. We both played the alto sax and were in the same band class when he was a junior and I was a senior. We had many mutual friends and loved to hang out together. How did he propose? Dakota proposed on top of Wind Mountain in the Columbia Gorge. We love to hike and explore new areas, so it was perfect! Tell me about the details you're most excited about for your upcoming wedding! I am very excited to have all of our family members celebrating our marriage with us! And besides marrying Dakota, I am very excited for the food! :)  Sometimes I make a silly suggestion and my couples just go with it... And then this happened 😜😜 Engagement photos: What kind of look were you going for? Our goal was to be able to look at the photos and feel like it really showed who we are and our personalities and re...

Heathen Estates-- A new Wedding Venue and Winery in Clark County

Image
I had the opportunity to work with several local wedding vendors to create a live styled shoot during the soft-opening of the new Heathen Estate in Brush Prairie, WA. The venue is gorgeous and will make for a beautiful place to hold outdoor weddings and events. They also have the home listed on Airbnb. The day of the event it was super rainy and muddy so we were limited on where we could go with these beautiful gowns but we managed to stay somewhat dry and use the available covered porch and walk ways to get some beautiful shots. Here are some of my favorite images shot during the soft-opening. Vendors: Venue: Heathen Estate Event planning and coordination: Soliel Bliss Event Productions Decor and Rentals: Miss Formal Event Rentals Floral Design: Flower Friends Hair and Make up: Glam Beauty Bar Wedding Gowns: Sincerely the Bride Catering: Summerland Catering Cake: Sewell Sweets

A little bit about me- An interview with Tara Thackeray

Image
Hey Hey, So this academic year I've had the privilege of mentoring a HS senior for her senior project. She conducted an interview with me and these are the questions and answers. I thought I'd share them here as a blog post incase anyone else is interested in knowing a little more about me 😊😊😊😊 1. What got you into photography? I’ve always loved all things art. Even when I was a child I was obsessed with cameras and taking pictures. I loved having professional photos taken. Scrapbooking and documenting life was totally my jam. I loved to pose my younger cousins or sibling and take photos of them during holidays and family events. I always had a camera with me and went through several growing up. In school, I was part of the yearbook committee and I took every art class available. I went to college to an art teacher because I love helping people and I love art--- I still do!  but I always had this DREAM of being a professional photographer. A few years later...
