5 tips to help you prepare for your headshots - Headshots Vancouver WA

Your headshot is your first impression in many professional settings. Therefore, it is important to ensure that it is a good one. Here are five tips to help you prepare for your headshots:

  1. Choose the right clothing: Your outfit should be professional and fit well. Avoid bright colors and patterns, and instead opt for solid neutral tones. Make sure your clothing is comfortable and something you feel confident in.

  2. Get a good night's sleep: A lack of sleep can show on your face, so make sure you get plenty of rest the night before your shoot. This will help prevent dark circles and puffy eyes.

  3. Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your shoot. This will help keep your skin looking fresh and healthy.

  4. Choose a flattering hairstyle: Your hairstyle should be flattering and professional. Avoid any drastic changes right before your shoot, and make sure your hair is clean and well-groomed.

  5. Practice your expressions: Spend some time in front of a mirror practicing your expressions. Try out different smiles and angles to see what looks best on you. This will help you feel more confident and relaxed during your shoot.

By following these simple tips, you can ensure that you are well-prepared for your headshots and ready to make a great impression.

Getting Ready for your Wedding: Tips for Brides

Let's talk about Wedding Hair and Makeup and how long you will need to get ready on your wedding day. When it comes to planning your wedding day timeline this is a question I get a lot from brides "How long will it take to get ready?"  Generally, the answer is different for every bride and I try my best to give great advice when it comes to planning these details but let's face it, I'm the photographer, not a wedding planner or HMUA. I typically will suggest my brides get ready early and plan at least 1 hour per bridesmaid for hair and makeup. It seems like a lot of brides think they are going to have all day to get ready but time slips away very quickly on the day of. I have seen bridal parties with 10+ bridesmaids get full hair and makeup and still arrive on time ready for photos with no hiccups and I've seen small bridal parties struggle to show up an hour late to the ceremony. It's so important to make sure you have enough time for everyone to get rea

So you want to start a photography business?

Hello friends,  I wanted to hop on and answer a question I get all the time... How do you start a photography business?  Yep, I know it's kind of a broad question but believe me I get tons of emails, Facebook messages, and Instagram DMs with people flat out asking for me to help them get started.  I don't mind, really I'm happy to help but if I really truly shared every bit of information with every single person who reached out it would take me hours and hours to put it all together and I would be giving away everything I have done/learned. That is coaching or mentoring and if you are looking for a business coach I know some amazing ones and I'd be happy to connect you or if you'd like to hire me as your photography business coach, I'd be happy to work with you. It's so much more than taking pretty photos or setting up cute backdrops and props. If you don't have a good understanding of how to run a business it can be incredibly challenging.  I have do

Pomeroy Farm Wedding, Jesse and Sierra

I absolutely love photographing couples at Pomeroy Farm Wedding Venue in Yacolt WA! It is by far one of my favorite venues. I love that is a historical venue. The history is so neat, the property is absolutely stunning and the family who owns and operates the wedding venue and historic farm are just the sweetest. They offer a variety of events throughout the year for families to visit and learn about the farm. Pumpkin lane is one of my favorites in October! If you haven't been out to see this beautiful historic Farm,  Wedding Venue, and winery you should definitely plan a visit!  Wedding Venue: Pomeroy Farm- Yacolt, WA What song did you choose for your first dance?
