One of my favorite couples is tying the knot today. I'm so excited to capture their love story this afternoon. Here are some of my favorites from their engagement session in Vancouver,WA and Portland, OR.  We had ourselves a little adventure and cruised around downtown Portland as well as downtown  Vancouver finding little spots here and there to take these shots. I always enjoy working Bridgette. She's been a friend and client since 2009.  Congratulations to Bridgette and Tony today! Shout out to  Sammy's Flowers  in Portland. They have such an adorable little flower shop and the ladies were so nice when we came in.  Another Shout out to  Torque Coffee Roasters  for their awesome coffee, friendly staff and funky furniture. Best coffee in town for sure.  It's a great place to warm up during a cold shoot. These two are so cute! I can't wait to photograph their wedding on this beautiful sunny day today! T

Last winter, I photographed Brett and Heathers wedding at the Grant House  in Vancouver, WA. It was a joyful intimate wedding with Brett and Heathers closest friends and family. I liked Heather as soon as I met her. She loves to laugh and is so genuinely nice. Her energy was contagious and I was thrilled when she chose me as her wedding photographer. Their wedding was full of emotions. I could sense their true love and the love of their friends surrounding them and lifting them up in prayer during their ceremony.  1 year later, they asked me to do anniversary photos. I loved the idea! What a fun way to celebrate their first year of marriage-- and they are so cute!  Both very much in love and full of laughter. So we went out on a very cold and windy day to do their session. We were all freezing. Our hands were numb and our faces red from the cold. I suggested we go somewhere warm where we could grab coffee before we go back out to shoot. So we wound up at a local favorite of mine dow

One of the many things I love about my job is the opportunity I have to reconnect with old friends and celebrate very exciting times with them. This is Sarah. Sarah and I have known each other since I was in 2nd grade. We grew up together in elementary and middle school. I remember going to birthday parties at her house and riding the school bus together. We reconnected through Facebook over the past few years. I am so honored that she approached me to document her journey to motherhood. Sarah is totally rocking this baby bump and she is going to be such a great mommy! She is smart and successful and I can't wait to meet her sweet little baby Emmett. This family touched my heart when I came across a post from Susana on Facebook about her daughter Aaliyah's first chemo treatment. We somehow became friends through mutual friends on FB but I didn't know her before that post. Her 2 year old Aaliyah was diagnosed with Leukemia just around Thanksgiving.  I instantly felt I needed to contact her. I don't know what they are going through, I can only imagine.  I do know that families often get so busy with medical appointments and the stress of fighting illnesses that it can be hard to do regular family things like have your photos taken or just have fun together. I wanted to give them the gift of family photos so that they could have these now. Things are looking really good so far and their family is optimistic and hopeful. They are ready to fight and win. I pray for their strength and for Aaliyah's health to improve.  Susana is starting a journal and just set up an account on caring bridge. To follow their battle

T+D=Love Oh I had so much fun doing Tamasen and Daniel's engagement session in Battleground WA. Our weather was so unpredictable that day... We canceled at first due to rain.. then the sun broke through the grey clouds a bit and we jumped at the opportunity to get out there and take advantage of the dry weather while we had the chance. It was so perfect. The sky was a giant soft box and we didn't get rained on. We went to the location where they got engaged. I was impressed with the massive old barn. There were lots of animals hanging out with us too. We even spotted an owl. The chickens loved the camera and Daniel made friends with a cat. I'm so thrilled that these two have chosen me to be their wedding photographer. I am so excited to work with them again and tell the story of their wedding day.
